Speedwitch is dedicated to providing railroad modelers with the resources as well as kits and decals to replicate period freight equipment, to recreate period freight operations, and to increase awareness about modeling actual prototypes.

Speedwitch is the effort of Ted Culotta as well as many other individuals who provide support in the form of research, submissions, suggestions, etc. Ted is known in the hobby primarily through his “Essential Freight Cars” series in Railroad Model Craftsman.

Some "S" and "O" Scale Freight Car kits are also manufactured. Our kits span the time period from 1890's to the present with emphasis on the transition era (1940 to the late 1950's) and are geared toward serious modelers and hobbyists. Since 2019, we have used 3D-printing and other innovative technologies to bring you unique and useful model railroad products that you won’t find anywhere else. We know what modelers want, because we are modelers ourselves.

Starting out with 3D printed ho scale end of train device that are removable for model railroaders, we now offer products to help bring another layer of story telling to of your railroad whether prototype or freelance.

My partner Scott and I hope to prosper NOT by CHARGING AS MUCH AS possible, but rather, by CHARGING AS LITTLE as possible. This includes giving away as much as we can, especially modeling tips, how-to's and information which would carry a price elsewhere; but here, they're free.
